Lower Back Pain Causes - Signs and Symptoms

All over the world, individuals who reach the age of 40 may feel the signs and symptoms of lower back pain. This may be due to the weakening support of the lower part of the spinal column to the upper rib cage.

The ligaments, muscles and bones are may also be weakened due to other Lower Back Pain Causes. Let us look into the signs and symptoms of lower back pain and how these causes affect our daily tasks and endeavors. Here are some.

Over weight - Being overweight is a problem to many people. Because of this the excess muscle, fats including the other parts of the body there is too much pressure for the bones to support it hence, causing lower back pain for obese people.

It is best to lose some of the weight to lessen the anxiety and strain that supports the entire body.

Aging - As related earlier, as we grow older, the bones structures and muscle supports slowly degenerates. Well, it is quite inevitable to feel lower back pain because of these causes related to aging. Proper diet can be the best remedy for this just to support the strength of our body system.

Accidents - Another possible cause of lower back pain is due to accidents like falling, a blow on the pelvic part or back part of the body and some related accidents that may happen to many people. First aid can be applied or immediate action to go to the doctor must be done in case it is severe.

Sciatica - this is usually caused by a compressed sacral nerve within the spinal cord. This may be due to pregnancy in women because of the pressure of the uterus in the sciatic nerve. Correct posture and simple and gentle exercise may help relieve the pain.

Degenerative diseases - Degenerative diseases like multiple sclerosis and arthritis may severely damage the joints causing acute lower back pain. The legs are also affected because of the nerve pressure and bone density loss.

Proper diet and proper consultation to the doctor should be done for further treatment and prescription of medicines for degenerative diseases.

Osteoporosis - This is also a form of degenerative disease. The bone density is becomes textured and may become harder causing it to be brittle. As these progresses, the spinal cord nerves may be trapped and pressured thus, causing lower back pain.

A physiotherapist may help in lessening the pain or proper diet with lots of calcium intake may help strengthen the bones. Also, make sure that a regular check up must be done by a doctor to properly diagnose the problem of osteoporosis.

Herniated disc - This may be due to strenuous activities like sports, weight lifting and construction works. Lifting weighty materials may cause the disc in the pelvic region to slip causing more pain at the lower back including the legs.

Spinal stenosis - This is predictable in aging individuals. The spinal canal continuously narrows down resulting to pressure in some nerves at the spine and bones.

These are just some of the many causes of pain in the lower back part of the body. Remember to keep a healthy living and diet to help alleviate the pain.
