I had a fantastic yoga class this morning and was reminded just how and why target marketing works. My instructor began her class asking everyone how they were feeling and discovered that more than half the class had recently been sick with different viruses and colds, so she decided to focus on specific poses that would help stimulate and strengthen our immune system.
These poses were challenging especially the Snake & Gouda, try balancing on your big toes and thumbs at the same time! She also played great music and after class people were asking her allot of questions about the new poses, the music and other classes she offered. She really had it going on today.
Her class showed me first hand how and why its so important to know your customers needs and then be able to provide the solution to their problem. Targeting your market in your business you will definately achieve better results and you will also be leveraging your business more effectively. The coolest thing about it was that she wasn’t trying to sell anything she cared about the way we were feeling and wanted to help.
Narrow Things Down
When your using the internet to grow your business you need to narrow things down because you don’t have a specific geographical location as most offline businesses do. Your target marketing through the masses of people using the internet world wide, its huge. You want to find groups of consumers who need what you have and are the most likely to purchase your product or service.
Remember, what ever your opportunity or service is people want to purchase things that will help them succeed in what they are doing.
Where To Start?
First find out where your prospects are, understand what they want and how you can help them. You will be way off target if you don't know and understand this throwing your money and time away.
You should market your retail product or service to people who have purchased a similar product or service before e.g. other network marketers, OR people who are actively searching out your product or service i.e. other network marketers that have already spent money on the industry and are willing to buy things that will help them succeed.
Once you have targeted your prospects use the principals of Attraction Marketing. Your goal is to develop real relationships with people so they get to know and trust you and want to do business with you. Your integrity, great idea’s, content and service is the hook and when you offer someone the very thing they are looking for you’ve supplied them with a solution to their problem. Your selling a solution in the pack of people, guiding them forward and showing them that you care.

Forums are a great way to connect with people in your market. Know what communities and networks are right for you and which ones are going to help spread your message the most effectively. Once you know this start participating in them and get to know the sub-culture there, learn about what they want and how you can help them.
The best thing is to give people what they ask for, let them take the first step whether its Opt In, Subscribe or whatever. You have to loose your agenda to sell sell sell and want to genuinely help people, sounds a little backwards, well that's what I thought at first but it makes complete sense now and it works.
Know what your goals and objectives are. Using Free targeted web traffic methods such as Social Media and Article Marketing to get the attention of internet users might take longer but your also building real relationships with people.
