Double sided tape can be used for a wide array of applications. Double side tape is thicker than standard tape as it is made to hold more weight. It also differs from other types of tape in that it has a bonding substance on both sides of the tape. This allows you to attach two separate objects or pieces of cloth together.
The adhesive on either side of the tape is covered by a strip of plastic and when you need to use the tape you simply need to cut the size you want and then peel off the strip of plastic on the one side, attach it to the material and then remove the other strip of plastic and attach the other piece of material.
As I said you can use double side tape for many things, but I have found it especially useful for attaching my tablecloth to the table. I love to entertain in my big garden, but the area in which I live is very windy. This resulted in me spending a lot of energy trying to control my tablecloths instead of mingling with my guests. That was however until I found a better use for double side tape.
Let me share my little secret on how to use double side tape to make sure that your tablecloth does not move an inch:
Calculate the number of squares of double side tape you would need in order to go around the table top. The squares can be between 3- 5 cm long. Depending on the size of the table you need to have about 4 squares per length and 2 per breadth.
Pull off the protective plastic off the ONE side of the double side tap and stick the tape to the table. When you have completed the length throw the tablecloth over the table evenly.
Then simply remove the strip of plastic off the adhesive and attach the tablecloth to it. Press firmly. Continue down the length.
When one side is done start procedure again until the entire table is done.
Here you have another great way in which to use double sided tape...
