Double sided tapes, the popular pressure sensive tape with adhesives on both sides, can usually be found in just about all households, office or workshop. The taping solutions are generally used to stick 2 items together and uses range from decorative mirrors on walls to features in shops and 3D effects for school projects.

These double sided tapes can be purchased in various lengths, which range from very small rolls to rolls of up to 3 metres and longer, excellent for both the home user and more business oriented applications in places of work and industrial facilities. The tapes can furthermore be thin or dimensional - consequently people can assess if they wish to create an invisible or a 3D look - the latter option is particularly popular in stores where advertisers need to create a dimensional look for showcases and signage.

Double sided tapes are usually not usually applied as an irreversible answer to hang a picture or other object to a wall. More permanent fixtures are often secured by means of nail in anchors, which are naturally tougher than double sided tapes and more appropriate for heavier objects and valuable paintings... Never endeavor to hang a very important painting through the use of double sided tape.

If you need to remove double sided tape from a wall, there's always a risk that the tape will remove some of the paint along the way. To avert this, follow the 3 basic steps below:

Step 1: Use a heat gun or a blow dryer and cautiously move the unit along the length of the tape. The higher the temperature of the blow dryer or heat gun, the more successful the final results

Step 2: Make use of a plastic putty knife or a comparable flat object (don't use stainless steel knives or blades as you will scratch the paint) to carefully lift one of the edges of the double sided tape

Step 3: Gently use your fingers to roll the corner of the double sided tape away from the wall. Continue rolling bit by bit and steadily, making use of more heat if you find that the tape is still staying on the wall

With a little bit of persistence and careful attention, you will leave no glues or nasty markings behind!
