The very first reason is that a small car is cheaper, in general, when compared to a larger car. I am not referring to a small sports vehicle, they are always going to be expensive, I am talking about individuals small hatchback shaped vehicles. The basic level hatchback is a lot cheaper than the sedan which has comparable technologies inside it. Then there's the fuel usage of a small car as opposed to a big car or even, heaven forbid a four by four.
