As an Internet marketer you have to be able to focus on your goal, whether that goal is earning more sales, getting better leads or building a trusting relationship with your market and it is important that you put some real work into that goal to ensure that you reach it. This article will teach you what you need to know to build a great to-do list to meet your goals.

List Things You're Not Supposed to Do: A nice twist on the traditional to-do list is making sure to include all of the things that you are not supposed to do. But how can that actually help you? It will help you focus first on what you need to get done and what you shouldn't do. To use one example, let's say that you are in the habit of checking your e-mail all the time; this can be a major distraction and keep you from finishing your to-do list. You can add a task to your list which says "check email twice a day" - and then strike this item off your to-do list at the end of the day if you happen to respect it. The fact is that your focus can easily get distributed amongst other things that eat up your productivity and you should try to minimize this as much as you can.

Be Realistic: When you're listing out your tasks on your to-do list, don't be unreal because adding too many tasks that you don't have the time to take care of will act like a de-motivating factor. The last thing you'd want is finishing your to-do list only half way through and then realizing that you put up unrealistic goals. This gets you off course and makes your to-do list even harder to finish. The first thing you need to do is look at how much you need to accomplish, then how much you can actually do in a day and then add that much to your list. This helps give you some clarity and forward momentum because you will actually be accomplishing things each day.

Each and every item that you cross off of your to-do list gets you closer to your primary goal and that, in and of itself is a big motivator.

Start Your Day with Your To-Do List: An effective way to make your to do list work is to start your day with it. That's right; if you make it a habit to compose your to-do list as soon as you sit down to work each morning you will find that you have a lot more energy about moving forward and sticking to your primary goals. Since you're more likely to have increased productivity when you first start your day, you ought to be able to use this time to effectively organize your list as best as you can. Ultimately what matters is how well you create your to do list and how much action you put into getting done with it. Writing a to-do list isn't much more than setting a plan for your day to ensure your productivity so it makes sense that you create it at the beginning of your day.

Overall, your goal should be to be able to cross off every item on your to-do list but if it doesn't work out, there's always another day.
