It is unavoidable that your Epson printer will run out of ink at some stage or another, unless of course you never use it. When this happens your inkjet printer will warn you that you need to purchase a new Epson ink cartridge. Here is what you need to do with the Epson ink cartridge once you have it and the one inside your inkjet printer is actually empty.

One thing to note is actually that if you possess an Epson inkjet printer, you should only use Epson ink. It's developed specifically for the printer and any other printer ink might damage the inkjet printer. You should also never leave an ink cartridge position empty as this allows ink that is still in the head nozzles to dried out and also block them. refilling your Epson ink cartridge won't help you save anything as they are equipped with a chip which records the amount of ink within the cartridge and cannot be reset. Just about all cartridges should contain ink before any printing is performed. Ink is actually consumed during publishing, print head cleaning. Self-cleaning as well as regular operation.

Whenever replacing the ink cartridge, make sure the inkjet printer is on. The power light shouldn't be blinking. Open the inkjet printer cover by following the actual directions either on the printer or that were included with the printer. Press the ink button to bring the print head into place for your cartridge to get replaced. You shouldn't hold down this switch for more than three seconds because this may initiate the self-cleaning procedure. Additionally only use the ink button to maneuver the print head as doing it manually could damage your inkjet printer.

Then you will want to remove that old cartridge. Dispose of it correctly. Remove the new one from its product packaging and insert it in to the position that is now left open. Be careful not to touch the chip or the cartridge nozzle. Close the inkjet printer and allow it to set up the cartridge. If the error light flashes, remove the brand new cartridge and re-install it. Should the issue persist, contact the technical support offices for the printer to ask for help in solving the issue.
