There exists a saying that goes "you are what you eat" - this essentially means if you consume nutritious well-balanced food items and care for your body, you will be rewarded with a healthy body and a long life. On the flip side, should you not pay attention to your body and consume unhealthy, oily fast food 3x each day, you could soon end up in the hospital or on long-term cholesterol prescription medication. Even though I agree with the saying, I think it is possible to put a slight twist on the expression and change it to "you are what you drive!"

A person's car says a lot about a person. A modest entry level vehicle could point out that you are a student or young professional, while a seven-seater sedan in my opinion spells soccer mom! And then there are of course also the sleek sports or race cars which are a clear sign of a profitable individual that likes to have a good time and at the same time showcases his success.

In my opinion a 4x4 is an indicator of fun! The majority of 4x4 owners purchase these types of vehicles for one main purpose. and that is certainly not to have sufficient space for their grocery shopping! A 4x4 enables you to venture where no man has ventured before, to explore the undiscovered, to point the vehicle's nose in any wind direction and just driving without having an idea where you are going. all because you can!

Of course there are many types of 4x4's or 4 wheel drive cars to pick from. Some cars are permanently in four wheel drive, while other vehicles give offer you a choice of selecting either normal gear or four wheel drive. Some vehicles also have a differential lock setting (generally known as diff lock) while other vehicles are even equipped with a "snorkel" for excursions through rivers and dams.

Before choosing a 4x4 you must determine what your main reason behind buying the motor vehicle is. Have you got a wife and a couple children that you would like to take tenting fairly often? Your very best choice would certainly be a motor vehicle with more than enough room to allow for you and your family (and often a buddy or two in the case of children!) Or are you a young person with an active lifestyle, but cautious about the fuel economy (or lack of it!) on a larger 4x4? A short wheel base model (a 2 door 4x4) may very well be more to your liking.

Keep in mind that purchasing any type of motor vehicle is quite a substantial expense. You should do some prior exploration before reaching for your chequebook. And always bear in mind you should buy a motor vehicle to YOUR needs and specifications as you will be the one spending most time in your versatile new vehicle!

Four by fours add convenience and comfort to any person's everyday life and these days these all-round motor vehicles are just as comfortable on the open road as they are on uneven dirt roads!
