Released on March 1, 2011, Rift is a massively multi-player online role playing game or MMORPG from the Trion Worlds Network. Set in the fantasy world of Telara, this second installment to Rift: Planes of Telara is basically a revenge of a defeated death god Regulos, who tried to use the power of dragons to cause havoc upon the fantasy world. Upon failing it was found that he had caused tears in the world called Rifts, which when they appear, will call upon the undead and a variety of monsters that players will have to battle with.
Rift Gameplay basically is about you being on the side of good. You will take on the role of Ascended soldiers who have been resurrected and will work on ending the force of the tyrant Regulos. At the same time, you'll be helping the two factions that have arisen because of the threat - namely the Guardians and the Defiant - to come together and work against the evil forces.

There had been other MMOs in the market, and the most popular among these would be World of Warcraft (WoW). While WoW has been the leading game for all the loyal MMO players out there, Rift Gameplay is quickly becoming popular enough to pose strong competition for Wow.
