There are multiple ways to become a millionaire. Many folks have become millionaires by entrepreneurship, sheer courage, and of course talent. Like Steve Jobs or Larry Ellison for example. But even if you are not a talented IT engineer or scientist you can still become a millionaire if you are persistent and have a bit of patience.
Patience is of course the key. Most of this generation want their dream home, their dream car, and their dream life style now. They end up taking out a lot of loans, live on credit cards, and then spend the rest of their life working hard to pay those mortgages and debts. You could hardly become a millionaire if most of your monthly salary goes into debts and mortgages every month. You will not even have the freedom to let go of a highly paying job that sucks because you need the money or you risk foreclosure. Forget about wanting to become a millionaire.
On the other hand, if you earn a good salary, save a decent percentage of that (10 to 20 per cent if possible), invest it wisely in stock market, you can become a millionaire. Earning money is easy enough once you get a job. As for saving, you can do that by making it the first priority. Set up an automatic debit which will send at least part of your salary into an online account. Put money into a 401(k) plan. The money will be deducted from your salary pre tax so that you won't have to pay tax on that money either. Also, there is a high likelihood that your employer will match your investment thereof so that you will have double savings. When you have adequate money you can invest it in stock market or real estate or which ever investment you deem best. It is better to take the help of an expert in this case.
Keep in mind that if you want to become a millionaire or at least live a free life, you will also have to spend less. Prioritise when you spend. Spend only on those things which you really need or yearn for. Leave that fancy car or fancy dress till you earn more. Oh, have fun, but keep limits on that fun. If you use credit cards do so sensibly. That is, use it less, do not keep outstanding amounts, and pay in time. This will help you get a good credit record so that you will be able to really buy your dream home when the time comes.
You don't need to win a lottery or have a splendid run of luck at gambling to become a millionaire. All you need to do is spend wisely and invest wisely.
