South Korea's largest passenger carrier airline is Korean Air Lines. Like all major airlines, and some smaller ones, they have a cargo division. Along with the passenger component of this airline, Korean Air provides service to 130 cities in 45 countries. Their primary headquarters is located in Seoul, South Korea while flying out of Incheon International Airport. Of course they do have a domestic flight division that flies to 20 locations. Korean Air is highly ranked for its international cargo services. Worldwide, their passenger service is also ranked in the top 20.

For the place they are at today, Korean Air (also known as KAL / Korean Air Lines) has had more than forty years of hard won encounters to get there. There have been several airlines that have experience hardships in a number of forms. KAL is not excluded from the rest, because they crashed in their early beginnings, twice, between the end of the 1940s and the beginning of the 1960's. There is quite a bit of familiarity and expertise with the aviation executive assembly with Korean Air as they have many years of experience. That along with many intelligent steps toward aerospace and cargo examinations puts this company on the front position of the association with the aviation industry.

In 2007, Korean Air had proof of 17,000 employees. They publicized towards the end of the year, their objective to try to win with on-ground transportation railway lines. So they obviously designed a carrier that was friendly to the budget and the price was lessened quite a bit. With internal, domestic flights, this was an additional facet for lowering the existing tight security checks. In the summer of 2008, Korean Air had an answer and they inaugurated what is now referred to as Jin Air. This is a minor company and consists of apt range A300 and B737 aircraft.

Korean Airlines has not neglected passenger comfort as any smart airline company is expected. Several years ago they introduced new Kosmo Suite seats for first class status passengers. The Prestige Sleeper seats were also placed into service in mid 2009.

These seats can actually adjust to a flat 180 degree orientation. First Class seating and Prestige seating are marked by the Celadon Green color, an important color in Korea. Recognition and special honor are endowed upon those who actually have elevated flying status.

Though they were not always operational, Korean Air has a rich history that spans over 50 years. The resurrection of this company was possible many years ago because of the same driving force that is with the company today.

After all, they failed twice in the earliest days of existence which spanned a little over a decade. In the late 1960s, they reformed once again proving that three times really is the charm. In those years, they attributed their main challenges to inexperience in aviation and airline management. This experience, over time, has allowed them to grow into a company that can compete internationally.
