Frequently I hear marketers say they would like to be a Master MLM Prospector. I'm here to tell you that everybody can do it. It simply takes some time and tons of practice. Nevertheless, there are a few things that you can do that will really assist you in your MLM journey and in achieving MLM mastery.
There are Five Key Qualities of Master MLM Prospectors: Passion, Consistency, Communication, Being Prepared and Being Positive.
Let's dive into each one and find out how you can begin to put into effect in your Network Marketing business today!
Trait #1: Passion - You have to have a Genuine passion for Freedom, your Product and Helping others.
This is by far the most vital thing on this list. Without an intense passion for your product, this industry, the freedom it can provide and helping people achieve that freedom, then you really shouldn't be in the MLM industry.
What you need to figure out is what turned you on to your company and its product, then take that same passion and share it with others. Talk with other product users and listen for success stories within your company. There is always a wealth of product and success testimonials that you can utilize to convey your belief and passion. Take into account that it is your passion people will initially be drawn to before they are attracted to your product or company.

Trait #2: Consistency - You have to be consistent with your MLM business every day.
Being consistent is incredibly important. Another way to think about it is, if you were a doctor but only complete 7 out of 10 surgeries correctly, how long do you think you would be in practice? Not very long! You have to think of your $500 starting cost for your business like it was $500,000 or $5 million for that matter!
Far too many people start a MLM business and after that don't put in the time and energy required to be successful, however, they are still expecting the huge pay off. Well, the reality of the situation is the pay off will ONLY happen when you treat your business like a business and consistently work it every day. Now I am not saying you must come home and put in another 8 hours of work every night, but creating an Action Plan and sticking to it works.
You want to set a Minimum Daily Exposure (MDE) number for yourself. If you are working this very part-time and can just put in a few hours each week, then I would recommend beginning with 3 MDEs. Your ultimate goal is to be exposing between 10 and 15 new people to your Network Marketing business each day.
After you run the numbers about what this will do for your business, you will have no problem displaying passion. Having a MDE leads to success. It does not matter if you're building your network marketing business online, offline or a combination of the two, your action plan is a simple formula that works.
Trait #3: Communication - Stay in constant communication with people and Follow up, Follow up, Follow up.
Whether your are building your MLM business on the internet or generating your leads offline, you have to have some form of communication with your leads, at a bare minimum of once a week.
There is a fine line to walk with follow up however. You do NOT want to be pitching your business every time. Ask the people you are interested in working with how their business is going, remember birthdays and anniversaries. After all, the foundation of MLM is relationship building.
With an offline MLM prospect, you will want to follow up when there is a local meeting, a new tool or product.
With an online MLM prospect this becomes effortless since you should have an auto-responder sending out letters every few days.
What communication does is it keeps your name fresh in their mind. It is this follow up that helps you be the person they want to call if their financial condition changes.
Trait #4: Being Prepared - You want to always have tools prepared and practice alert living.
Because of our present economic mess and no stability showing in our future, people are now starting to look at Network Marketing or MLM in a different light. Many are starting to perceive our industry as a realistic way to develop an extra income or a full-time income for themselves.
You should be armed with testimonials or stories, both product and income, and tools to pass out (CD, DVD, literature, etc).
The stories are strategic as we are emotional creatures. People can relate better to stories than they do to facts. When you are meeting people in person, it is the stories that will introduce people to your product and your opportunity and make them want to learn more. Stories are something that people can become passionate about!
Facts Tell, Stories Sell!!
One more thing is whenever you leave the house you need to be well-dressed. That means no club attire or pants that hang off your hips. When you dress for success, you are primed to make something positive occur in your business.
Trait #5: Be Positive - You have to be upbeat.
I realize that we ALL have negative moments, but you never want to display that to your prospects or your downline for that matter. People enjoy being around warm, happy, charismatic people. They do not want to have to be walking on eggshells around you. You want to be the person that is like the people you want to attract and sponsor into your business. After all birds of a feather. and who needs to be in a group full of Debby Downers!
I want you to take on EACH one of these characteristics. You cannot pick and choose which ones you want. You will discover that when you do, your confidence will skyrocket. Your business will begin to grow and you will be on your way to achieving MLM Mastery!
