When you start beading for the very first time, I would recommend finding somewhere local that you can go look at some beads. Learn what the feel is like, get an idea of size. That is all lost on a computer screen.
When you go to buy beads online you'll be presented with a nice picture of the bead, normally larger than actual life therefore you could see detail. You need to get familiar with millimeters. That is the most common way beads are measured. 5 mm may sound tiny, but in a ring on a small hand, that could be huge.
Settings you will like and wish will be in certain sizes and it is possible that the bead you want for that setting is not going to available the size the ring demands. Meaning you might have quite the search .
Come to terms now with the fact that what you see on the screen, isn't exactly what you are going to get. They are going to pick the tigers eye with the most wonderful most stunning pattern. That's true with anything you purchase; that burger you get in the drive through never looks anything like the picture in the menu. Nature is not perfect, therefore when you go to buy beads online, those twenty tiger eye beads will each will look different and many might have little to no patterning on them, such is life.
