With the state-of-the-art technology we're experiencing today, increasingly more innovative solutions to everyday problems are appearing. Interaction is among the most important aspects of every day life. Without it, corporations would not be able to do business: the world as we know it would come to a stand still. It is therefore essential that ways of communication keep improving and evolving; so the world can communicate better, faster.

Among the many recent innovative findings within the telecommunication industry is that of system PBX. PBX is short for private branch exchange, which is a private telephone system used within a company or enterprise. The users of the PBX phone system share a number of external lines for making outside telephone calls. At the moment, the PBX system is the most powerful telephone system available today. Usually, a telephone line is connected to the telephone company's Central Office through something known as a "trunk". The Central Office routes incoming and outbound telephone calls and provides services like voice mail, call forwarding, and caller identification. For the service of using the Central Office, the business will be billed and sent an invoice.

Now, a company requiring a couple or even hundreds of separate telephones for every single member of staff will quickly incur a hefty bill from the telephone company, and for this reason, system PBX was created. The PBX system will be installed and will eventually take the place of the Central Office. It will act as an exchange point and will route incoming and outgoing phone calls itself. When a PBX system is installed, every telephone within the company will only need an extension, not an entirely separate number.

System PBX helps to reduce a company's telephone bill greatly, since the company will only pay for the amount of telephone lines liable to be connected at any given time externally. Should the company have 50 telephones, it's highly unlikely that all 50 employees will be making an external telephone call all at the same time. Most likely only ten- or fifteen percent will require an external phone connection at any time. Therefore, the company will lease 5 to 7 phone lines, rather than fifty.

System PBX is certainly among the best innovations in the telecommunications industry and is saving businesses thousands already.
