The short answer is that there are any number of places where you could get to get your leaflets printed from the print shop on the high street through to some internet site that you have never heard of before but you are about to enter your credit card details either way.
So this is a good moment to stop and take a reality check. Are you certain you know who you are working with and is the leaflet printing company a fly-by-night outfit who will be here today, gone tomorrow, with your artwork and cash?
None of this matters too much if you are simply producing a few flyers to promote a club night somewhere, but if you are reading this and you’re in business then you will appreciate that time and hassle is money and you will therefore want to entrust your leaflet printing to reputable printers who come with a solid reputation.
Which brings me neatly onto my top tips for spotting a leaflet printing company who know what they are doing:
1. When leaflets appear to be too cheap to be try, they probably are.
I’ve heard from endless returning customers who shyly admit that they bought using price over common sense. “The leaflet printing offer just seemed too good to be true,” they tell me as they explain that the quality of the leaflets was so poor that they could not bring themselves to distribute them to their clients.
2. Ask to see printed leaflet samples. Any printing company worth its salt will have endless product examples, so don’t be afraid to ask to see them. If they are really as good as their promotional material is telling you then they won’t mind digging up some of their previous printed leaflet samples and putting them in the post to you - will they?
3. Ask around your business friends and colleagues. One of the best way of ensuring that you receive good quality printing back is to use a printing firm that people you trust already use. This applies equally to any item of printing, but perhaps especially to an item like printed leaflets where everyone seems to be offering you an unbelievable deal.
4. Work with a reputable leaflet designer. In many cases the quality of your printed leaflet will be less to do with the printing and more to do with how well it was designed in the first place. The design can obviously greatly impact on the look and feel of your leaflet, but worse than that if the designer gets a key element wrong, like where the leaflet should bleed at the edge of the page, then the finished leaflet might well look like a dogs dinner.
A high quality printed leaflet can help you to promote your business. Leaflets are relatively inexpensive items to produce and so provide cost effective marketing.
It is therefore well worth your while locating a print company who you feel you can trust.
