I call to mind the first time I played Halo 1. It seemed like the best game evermanufactured. I had just got my new Xbox 360 and Halo 1 came with the system.Without any doubt I loved it because I was playing on a new system, but this game has reallyheld up over the years. Believe it or not, this is now thought of as a classic game, and is actually pretty collectible. Not to mention that halo 1 is still avery fun game to play.
If you don’t know by now, Halo 1 is the first in a very successfulseries of video games from Microsoft. The story behind the game is that the world is being taken over by acruel army of aliens called the covenant. Using all sorts of different revolutionary weapons you will have to fight them in many different battles. You also have to boss squads that are under your control. One of the best parts about halo 1 is that you can use the enemies transportation against them. There are a bunch of different vehicles to drive and fly and for me these were thefunnest parts of the game.
Some of the best features about halo 1 when it first came out were theelaborate design and graphics. The world that they created for this game was very new and awesome looking. The artificial intelligence of the enemies was the best any of us had ever seen when this game came out. Also, Halo 1 has a very high replay value. After you play it once you will definitely want to play it again on a harder level. The multiplayer function on Xbox live was extremely popular for a long time, and very fun to play.
There really weren’t too many cons about Halo 1 but I remember a few. Several of the maps were used several different times within the game, making it a little bit repetitive at times. Also the graphics only moved at 30 frames per second when the standard back when Halo 1 came out was 60 frames per second. But hey, nothing is perfect and these are the only things that I can remember that weren’t awesome about this game.
The soundtrack and music in this game is unbelievable. It was like nothing else that came before it and I think this is one of the main things that makes the game stand out from all the rest. If you have a good surround sound in your house then this game will blow you away. You can hear the guys coming from around the corner, the grass moving and them talking. When I first experienced myself immersed in this environment, I instantly fell in love with this game.
Old-school games are starting to be very popular. While this game is not quite at the extreme old-school level yet, I believe in the coming years it is going to be highly collectible. It was basically the start of a new era of video gaming. So don’t forget to save your copy in a safe place, or if you don’t currently have one, I highly recommend going out and buying a copy of Halo 1.
