There are three major components to the overall look of nineteenth century cowboy boots and these are high heels, side seams and a shank that reaches just below the knees. All of these components are superbly combined in each pair of Justin western boots. This is why the Justin brand has had a strong hold in the boot industry since it was first created.

Its creator, H.J. Justin, was born in Lafayette, Indiana and moved to Texas in the year 1879. He learned the skill of repairing boots while working at a barber shop and soon, he also learned how to make a pair of boots from scratch. When he had mastered this skill, he decided to open his own shoe repair and boot shop where cowboys could place their orders as they passed through the town and then pick them up when they rode back down the trail.

The Justin boot business began to really boom when the family moved to Nocona, Texas and Justin’s sons John and Earl joined in as partners in the year 1908. Justin western boots began seeing worldwide recognition in 1910 when they started selling in 26 states as well as in Cuba, Mexico, and Canada. In 1925, John and Earl Justin decided to move their headquarters to Fort Worth and in 1948, their nephew, Enid Justin, bought the controlling interest in the business that is now known as the Justin Boot Company. It was Enid who ensured that Justin boots were always in sync with the changes that came with time. He introduced new colors and designs, along with fancy collars and the now-classic wing tips. His innovations actually marked the beginning of the boots becoming a fashion necessity.

Justin boots have indeed come a long way, and they are now considered to be the dominating company in the boot industry, with about 3.5 million pairs of boots being produced every year. People prefer Justin cowboy boots because they come in all shapes, colors, sizes, shaft lengths, and heel heights. With all the combinations that Justin has to offer, you are sure to find a pair or two that suits you perfectly. Leather boots like Justin can last a lifetime, but of course, you will have to care for them properly in order to make sure that you get your money’s worth.

When cleaning your boots, be sure to lay out a towel or clean rag underneath it. Brush your boots gently from the top to the bottom, and be sure to use a soft-bristle brush in removing dirt. After brushing, dip a piece of cloth in a leather conditioner and then wipe it on your boots in a thin layer. Allow the conditioner to soak into the leather and then apply a shoe cream to your boots. Rub your boots briskly with a clean, dry towel to let its natural sheen come out. Between cleanings, you may wipe your Justin western boots with a damp cloth so as to prevent the build-up of dirt.
