It seems that one of the most successful ways to market one's name is through blog marketing!

Blogging is new, but not new if that makes sense. Blogging has been around for close to ten years, but seems to continue to grow dramatically every year. News reporters, sports reports, and gossip columnists all have blogs, and many use these to make money online.

Even if a reporter does not openly market a product, he or she is putting their ideas and thoughts on the web and increasing his or her exposure ten times more than just writing the daily column at the newspaper in which they work! This technique can lead to financial independence for said reporter because of the multitude of personal appearances and endorsements added to the padded resume.

While marketers are using blogs to increase their exposure on the web, it seems blogging is a technique that goes underutilized by most marketers.
Blogging is a great way to increase your exposure and drive traffic to your business, thusly helping you make money from the internet. Again, just be reminded that just because I say blogging is a great way to increase traffic to your website, that doesn't mean it will happen overnight; however, if you take the time to increase your exposure through blogging, you will build your business even greater, obviously, than without the blog, and building your business is the key to making extra money!

Here are three tips you can use to get started blogging immediately.
1. Blogger. One place you can go to set up a blog is to head over to Google, set up an account at Blogger. Blogger is free and has dozens of templates and designs so you can customize your blog any way you choose. Blogger may be a little limited in setting up a subscriber subscription box (as of this writing, I found one possible way, but the link did not work or was gone). However, with Blogger, you can set up a Google Adsense account and that is just one way to monetize your blog. Blogger even has a monetize tab to make the process easier.

2. Wordpress: Wordpress has two options and one is the free blog and the other is to host a Wordpress blog yourself. Yes, if you host it yourself, you will have to choose and purchase a domain name and purchase a hosting account. However, in my opinion, hosting a Wordpress blog yourself is better and more profitable! When I had my free Wordpress blog, I had a name with Wordpress in the URL and it seems, in a relatively short period of time, I had my free version suspended and could not get an answer as to why. Don't get me wrong, I am not blaming Wordpress nor am I ticked, because obviously, I didn't read the terms and paid the price! So, I have since gone with hosting one myself and I no longer have Wordpress in my URL and it has many more benefits to a free Wordpress blog. Wordpress, whether free or paid, is extremely easy to use and I can add subscription boxes and with all of the plug ins available, I can monetize my posts immediately upon posting. Now, I simply drive traffic to the blog and continue to create posts!

3. Write, write, and write. Now, once you have set up either a Blogger or Wordpress blog, find a passionate niche and begin writing. You will want to create posts every 3-7 days as to get content on the blog and get it rated higher within the search engines. The higher the ratings the more exposure to your blog, which in turn can make you more money. Using your blog, you can also write reviews for your favorite websites or programs, link to those programs on your blog. Many of the programs you are involved with will also have various links you can place on your blog for more exposure through those programs. You can set up a thank you page on your blog, so, if you don't have a website, you can send subscribers from your autoresponder to a thank you page. People love free gifts and the more you can give them (that have benefits for them) the more money you may be able to make.

So, you can utilize blogging for several reasons and use your blog to make money. If not overtly mentioned here, blogging is a great way to brand you, your name, and your business. Your domain name, if not your actual name, will become synonymous with your name once you provide your readers and the public with useful and profitable information. And, your picture will make people feel comfortable and more likely to trust you. Don't forget to put up a link so your readers can contact you if they wish. Make yourself accessible through your blog and you can make more customers and clients.
