Last night I was watching certainly one of my favourite "soapies" on the telly and the storyline went something like this: One of the characters who is considered to be the bad-guy (or in this event the bad-woman) in the story is also the owner of one of the properties where a lot of the characters stay, and where 2 outlets (a restaurant and a boutique) and a handful of offices are run from. Let's call the woman Jane throughout this explanation. The stores and offices are located on the ground floor, with the flats at the top. When one man (let's call him Jack) was strolling up the stairs, two delivery guys carrying a table came walking down. When Jack attempted to make way for the table, the railing of the stairway all of a sudden gave way and he fell to the floor with a big thump, breaking his hand in the process.

Jack is a photographer, and with his hand in a cast he is now not able to work and earn a living. Naturally, as with most stories, Jack sues Jane, her liability insurance policy pays out and everyone lives happily ever after. well, almost! The only issue is the fact that in order to save money, Jane cancelled her liability insurance with the end result that she's now personally liable for a substantial sum of money!

That was certainly a really careless thing of Jane to do! In terms of buildings, workplaces as well as other public places, insurance cover is very important! The coffee shop and the boutique would need protection in the case of incidents, accidents, thefts or fire. Office insurance would insure the content in the different offices while personal liability insurance cover could have saved our Jane a lot of money!

By believing that you do not need office insurance since you are a small company in a guarded area is a massive judgment error. By thinking that no one can get injured in your building is just as reckless! Do you drive your vehicle without car insurance because you believe you'll never ever be involved in an accident? Why then do people today take such risks in public areas such as shops and offices?

All businesses have a responsibility to care for their clientele, suppliers, distributors and any person else who visits their premises. When it comes to a serious accident, courts will not hesitate to close down any negligent firms.

In terms of public or office insurance, you ought to make sure that you're adequately covered for all situations. Many claims will be covered from your liability insurance cover, but if you're an organization providing advice and consulting services you may perhaps also need to look at taking out professional indemnity insurance, because not all claims are essentially injury or accident related.

In case you are unsure about what kind of insurance coverage your corporation or building would need it may very well be a good idea to call in the help of an agent that specialize in these kinds of insurance cover.

Make certain that your building, organization and office insurance is up to date - or else you could wind up losing almost everything that's important to you!
