The success of the Nokia 5230 brings about the release of its cheaper version, the Nokia 5228. More often than not, Nokia launches newer models to the market based on the features and designs of their preceding mobile and re-design them to better suit another consumer type. It may be confusing for some but nonetheless, we have to give credit to Nokia for giving more options to its consumers to choose from.

This gives the consumers a chance to decide on which mobile would suit them best taking into consideration the available budget they have. Although cheaper, the functionality is not compromised at all. It is still sure to provide a good Smartphone experience especially to first time users.

A Batch of Features

The Nokia 5228 offers a resistive touch screen display just like the other Smartphones from Nokia. Resistive touch screen means being able to use your stylus in writing your messages due to its handwriting detection. It may take some time to get use to it but after passing that stage your word per minute rate will increase and you will find it easier to use than the QWERTY keypad. This lets you maximise the functionality of the stylus aside from tapping.

For some, the most appealing feature of this mobile is the 3.2" touch screen. The huge size of the screen is perfect to view quality pictures not to mention that it can display 16 million colours. Imagine how vivid the picture would be? It also has a built in accelerometer which facilitates auto-rotate feature. This provides a better viewing experience letting you choose either landscape or portrait view.

This mobile also offers a hefty memory at 70MB and can still be expanded to a maximum of 16GB with a MicroSD card.

It has a 2MP camera that you can use anytime to capture special moments. Looking at it a brighter side, though the camera's resolution is not as high as that of other mobiles, you can still use it when you need to take a photo anytime. You can even capture videos if taking pictures is not your thing.

Basic Connectivity

The Nokia 5228 only offers EDGE and GPRS. It does not offer compatibility to HSDPA or 3G so this mobile is just satisfactory in terms of web browsing. On the other hand it is still able to access websites and your most loved social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. This mobile still sees to it that you won't get left behind on the social happenings and updates. It is still good to know that even though this mobile is offered at a cheaper price it still provides competent enough internet access.

Conclusion

Nokia's effort to expand their market is something that the consumers should be happy about. It gives them more options to choose from thus giving them the free will to decide which mobile would work better for them. We live in a period where it is practical to save. The Nokia 5228 is a best buy for those who like to get the best out of their hard earned money.
