I dare say that hardly anyone alive today in the western hemisphere has managed to avoid discovering the school of Hogwarts and the imaginary world of J.K. Rowling that is beating under the name of Harry Potter. For me this has had a bit of a peculiar meaning since I also live in areas where part of this fictional life is assumed to take place. Being able to wander around in London and even visiting the Platform 9 and 3/4 that sadly no longer exists where it should have been, there is a big undertaking going on in London where they are rebuilding and upgrading almost every tube and train station there is in this vast city.

Being fortuitous enough to live so close to main train stations I also have the rest of the kingdom at my disposal and it does not take long at all to go to the other locations brought up in the book or used in the film. The areas are indeed charismatic and gorgeous, somewhat enhanced digitally for the big silver screen to bring more of the darkness and character of Harry Potter to the moviegoers in that dark cinema. The book is frighteningly accurate in some areas and it is impressive given that the terrain has in some places had almost ten years to alter.

Living and working in London has given me more understanding into the way and life of the author and seeing what she was subject to makes more of the narrative come to life, rather than as most think; demystify it. Oddly enough most people that do not live in the UK still don't understand certain foods that are being implied in the books and I have heard rumors about parties where they download recepies from the cyberspace and try to make these pleasing meals and sometimes even re-enact some of the Harry Potter happenings around these meals.

As I referred to prior, the platform 9 and 3/4 is no longer where it used to be, but since the books and films around Harry Potter has had such a gigantic impact on the so called real life, the city decided to keep that part of the platform open to the public and you may still be able to see the pillar where they go into the mysterious world where witchery, dark magic and general life is bubbling with witchcraft. It is highly recommended that you do take a tour to that place if you like Harry Potter and who knows, you may even gain inspiration to crate the next bewitching and epic saga that will entrance the world for more than a decade.

Although it is sad that Harry Potter is coming to an end and that there will be nothing more in that world coming from the author, or that is at least what she has told the world for now. I am more searching about what will be the next thing, where will we find our new magical stories? Are you the one that will keep us under a magical spell for the next ten years? While I would love to think that I would be the one to bring this next epic adventure in to our lives, I know that I am far too shaped by J.K. Rowling, David and Leigh Eddings and J.R.R. Tolkien and may copy too much of them to create something that is new and instead of joining these characteristic authors, I would just be another one in a long line of copy cats.

Perhaps this is why author Nick Horby has selected This city as the stomping ground for his new museum inspiring the youth, and future authors of this country to put pen to paper and open their minds to limitless posibilities....
