All over the world, peple have the dream of becoming their own boss. Most of them will fail or quit. Some will fail because of the system or because of their personality. Other reasons might be because of their mentor, not enough time or they really did not want to do this in the first place. Tipically entrepreneurs will fail or quit beause they lose or don't have self-confidence.

The low self-confident individual will perceive something that is not working as a failure instead of what it really is, just something that did not work. When people feel they are failing, they lose faith and their own confidence that they can achieve what they have started. Self confidence is extremely important but how do you build your self-confidence for your business if you start from the beginning, from the bottom of the food chain? How to you become confident that what you do will work or eventually work? Awesome questions so let's see what you can do as an entrepreneur, a home based business owner to build your self-confidence as a home based business owner.

So what does a person with self-confidence looks like versus a person with low self-confidence?

First they do what they believe in no matter what other people might say. The low self-confident person with be concern with what friends and family say and will do what seems like everybody else is doing. You probably have people in your immediate surrounding that are saying that you are crazy to think you will succeed with your business. Ask yourself, what have they done that makes them an expert? Have they succeeded in what you are trying to achieve? If not, separate yourself from those people as much as you can. They are what I call dream crushers.

A self-confident person will take risk. Others will stay within their comfort zone thinking that living paycheck to paycheck or having quote on quote a good job is the only way to go. The self-confident person will also admit their mistake and most of all will see those mistakes as what they are, mistakes, not failure. The low self-confident person will do everything they can to hide that mistake because they are afraid to look bad in front of others. The self confident person will not look for praise and when he receives it, he will accept it gracefully. Expect the opposite from the low self confident individual.

These are just some examples of what a self-confident person looks like. You can see that they are humble, goal oriented, hard working and are not afraid to take a risk. So what can you do to become someone with self-confidence? The exercises below will help you build your self-confidence.

1. First step is recognize your own insecurity, what makes you feel the way you do.
2. Talk about it with your wife, husband, your best friend, someone you feel you can trust. Really share with them how you feel and what you are trying to achieve.
3. We all want to be perfect but no one is, remember that.
4. Take a moment and write down all the successes you have had in your life. Don't be shy, everyone has some. They can be big or small. It does not matter, write them down.
5. Document on paper what you are thankful and grateful for in your life.
6. Learn to have a positive outlook. Just in the way you word your sentences, you decide what kind of person you are. An example would be " Oh Mary, I could never do this" instead you could say " Oh Mary, I would have work very hard on this to achieve it"
7. Be graceful when someone compliments you. Accept it and be proud of it inside.
8. Stand in front of a miror evryday and SMILE.
9. When it feels like you are having a bad day, Fake it, be happy instead.
10. Do what you believe in no matter what the cost might be. It will be tough but very rewarding.
11. Start helping others around you. It will give you a good sense of accomplishment.
12. Celebrate the small victories just like you would a major milestone.

Some other things you can do is start exercising, eat healthy. If you feel good physically, you will feel good mentally as well. Choose your friends carefully. Make sure they will support you and not judge you. Don't be afraid of facing the facts in your life as brutal as they might seem. Face them but also ask the good questions so you can come up with good answers to resolve them. You will feel great once you know what the answers to your problems are and they won't seem so brutal after all.

To become confident is not complicated but it requires the desire to want to change. It is all about your mind set. If you really want to make a change, following these steps will help you become a self-confident individual. Remember that being self-confident is not a onetime effort. It is continuous and must be worked on almost daily. Take the steps you need to become who you want to become not what others think you should be.

To your success
