Starting your own online business is a wonderful idea and you can benefit from it more than you’ll ever know but there is also a down side to this that will put you in the dog house if you are not cautious. When starting out be realistic by preventing yourself from these misunderstandings.
1. Setting Extremely High Standards
When starting out people bait you in by telling you its really simple and how others are earning a huge $50,000 a week or in less than 6 months so at this point I’m sure your thinking to yourself this totally sounds to good to be true but if they did it I can do it to and next you’re ready to go for it.
Being realistic about it when you are new you must learn the basics of building your own business and your income isn’t going to just blow up overnight because it takes time for you to get to this level.
Building any kind of business is a slow process I don’t care who you are. Those that are earning these massive amounts of income have already learned the basics. Sometimes they don’t mention how long it took for them to get to this point.
So start out by being realistic and setting your standards in small achievable low figures & working your way up. Therefore, you won’t be so disappointed if you haven’t earned a ton of money in a short period of time.
2. Leaving Your Job To Soon
This is another mistake I see people make what happens is they try convincing themselves that they can fire their boss in 6 months and haven’t even made their first six figures yet.
Now I’m not saying this is impossible but people usually don’t achieve this in such a short period of time. You need to keep your focus on the basics of building relationships first while providing value if you do this everything else will follow.
3. No Up Front Money
You have to do your research upfront on learning everything you need for start up costs. Because learning can be pretty costly so in actuality you need to invest small when starting out that should range anywhere from $40 to $100 no more. Don’t start out on the high end like paying $500 to $3500 you should stay away from this until you are really ready to take it to that level.
4. Investing In Material That Promises Instant Wealth
The chance of making money online fast is definitely there, but if you are new to online marketing you will probably start out investing more than you are earning.
When I hear others expressing the fact of the results they’ve gotten very quickly I have come to realize that they have mastered these skills they have over a period of time before they got to where they are now. You know the old phrase that goes you may see my glory but you really don’t know my story.
5. Trying To Speed Up The Process
People don’t see that this but investing in a business and building a business is a slow process. Sometimes people get discouraged maybe they were led the wrong way by not being told this.
In the beginning they usually get excited and ready to go to work then later on the reality kicks in that this is an actual process that starts out slow and requires the time, knowledge and skills to build it.
6. Learning The Basics and Applying Them
This is really important when starting your own online business in order for you to get established and build a powerful foundation. Your foundation is learning the basics of being able to develop content, generate leads, build a list with those leads, create relationships and give value which goes along with solving others problems with the help of an automated system then last but not least earning income and this is how it all goes.
7. Attempting To Much By Not Focusing On One Thing At A Time
Think about it you’ve seen people out here going back and forth from a to b which is really defeating the purpose. If you go back to the reasons why you started your own online business then it goes deeper that what you may realize. Whether it was to gain financial freedom, stay at home with your kids or just being able to help other people achieve their success.
You can’t allow yourself to bounce from one thing to another you have to work on one thing at a time until you have mastered that one thing and then move on to the next step is how it should be done. So quit rushing because even though you may not notice it you are your only competition out here.
8. Not Surrounding Yourself With Like Minded Individuals
Your success has a lot to do with what type of people you surround yourself with. So you must get out here and start following and learning from those that have the results you want.
Go to their blogs read and study them, join online groups and forums which are a great source because you can see exactly what types of problems and frustrations people have and may be get some answers to your own problems. Surrounding yourself with like minded associates helps keep you on your toes.
