There have been a lot of rumours circulating in the internet regarding a number of handsets from the giants of the mobile phone industry. The hype was sparked by the recent HTC Gold and Nokia E7 leaked roadmap, along with Sony Ericsson's Xperia X8 and Research in Motion's BlackBerry Curve 9300.

Although there are no official reports or press release regarding the full specifications of these two mobile device the HTC Gold and Nokia E7 leaked roadmap carried a few information and details with it. Let's take a look at these two new handsets and see what promises they hold for consumers.

Gold

According to the rumours going around, this new smartphone from the Taiwan based mobile phone manufacturer will feature the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 operating system. This new OS is unlike anything consumers have seen before. Although it's a follow-up of the Windows Mobile 6.5, the company has taken the time to do an overhaul from the previous versions of OS.

For the longest time, the trademark of this platform's predecessors was a user interface too focused on business-minded consumers. Now the Windows Phone 7 is proud to present key points that cater to regular mobile phone clients.

Taking the company's series of smartphones to the next level, the platform supports multi-touch gestures so we can expect this phone's display panel to be more of a capacitive screen than a resistive.

Probably one of the things people would be happiest to know is the fact that the OS comes with the People Hub features which basically shows you the contacts in your phonebook you usually call and exchange messages with; this is apart from the Facebook and Gmail integration placed on the OS.

While the software may be a strong point of HTC Gold, there are still other details concerning this smartphone that would certainly catch your attention. For one thing the phone, according to talks circulating, will feature a 1.3 GHz processor which is the perfect pair for its OS since it will ultimately give the phone a faster and better performance.

Another interesting note to this mobile phone is the 4.3-inch display panel which is probably one of the largest screens seen on a smartphone today. There's also a 5-megapixel camera, though the resolution is not that interesting, it's capable of recording HD videos.

E7

The HTC Gold is not the only attention-grabbing mobile phone in the leakage; from what people can see from the HTC Gold and Nokia E7 leaked roadmap, Nokia E7 also has a few strong points on its own. For one thing, this smartphone is said to feature the Symbian^3 operating system which is noted for its graphics support, full HDMI support and simplified user interface experience.

Aside from the OS, the E7 is also equipped with a better display panel. Its AMOLED screen implies lower cost and power required, as well as superior image quality.

Release Date

Interested consumers may need to wait longer for a full list of the specifications of these smartphones, since the HTC Gold and Nokia E7 leaked roadmap did not come with those details. But what they do tell us is that these mobile phones may be available a few months from now, probably in November.
