As a hunter, you should speak to the locals to try to find out if there are large bucks around : owners of feed stores, game wardens, county agents, ranchers, farmers, other hunters, and even people in local diners or coffee shops. Your objective is to see if there are any large bucks locally, and where most of them have been sighted. Just ask about the sightings of extremely large bucks instead of overall population count. There are places which are teeming with small bucks, but this is not our goal. What we're looking for is that monster buck. Should you presently be on a lease or are otherwise committed to one specific area, determine the areas or stands that have produced the biggest bucks over the last several years and find out if any big bucks have been spotted in any particular place.
