Hypnotism has been widely used on TV for entertainment, and although capable of creating some good laughs, its main application is towards helping people with psychological conditions such as traumas, addictions and fears. For many people it is still considered a fantasy but for others it has changed their lives. Weather you believe in hypnotism or not is what makes the difference because it only works with the patient's agreement. With that in mind, one needs to agree that hypnosis cannot hurt anyone without their consent.

Despite how promising it sounds, difficult hypnosis techniques are not recommended for people who do not have a firm understanding of the whole concept. If you are new to the whole practice and have never hypnotized someone before, then it is very important to start out with some simple techniques. Don't Jump ahead of yourself or you won't create good results if any at all.

Hypnotize Yourself

A great technique to get you started is self hypnotism. By learning how to hypnotize yourself you'll have a full understanding of the different stages of a successful hypnotic trance, making it easier for you to later hypnotize one of your friends or family members. All you have to do is to put yourself in a very relaxed state and then make optimistic suggestions to your subconscious mind.

When you feel you've entered a deep hypnotic trance you can start to suggest new behaviors to your unconscious, programming it based on your goals and aspirations. If you suffer from a particular fear, you can suggest your mind to feel comfortable and at ease in that particular feared situation. You can also use hypnotism to relieve stress or to relieve tension out of bad memories.

Use Conversations

This hypnosis technique is a little bit more difficult than self-hypnotism, but it is still classified as being very simple. It is used to communicate with someone else's subconscious mind without them even knowing. It is often used to retrieve information from someone that they normally wouldn't be able to share while conscious. It is often used on victims of crimes that are fearful of remembering what happened, but it can be used for many other purposes as well.

Remember to master self hypnosis and conversational hypnotism before trying more advanced hypnotic approaches. The only way for you to become the good hypnotherapist you aspire to be is to master the basics first.
