It is often used to retrieve information from someone that they normally wouldn't be able to share while conscious. It is often used on victims of crimes that are fearful of remembering what happened, but it can be used for many other purposes as well.
Remember to master self hypnosis and conversational hypnotism before trying more advanced hypnotic approaches. The only way for you to become the good hypnotherapist you aspire to be is to master the basics first.
