So you are excited about your home based business, and you are attempting to learn as much as you can about marketing, presenting and closing. And, while those activitesof your business are extremely important, there are also intangible things that you need to be aware of that will help you on your path to accomplishing all your goals.
In this short article, I willgive you 5 tips that will take you to the next level, whether you’re new to the industry or a seasoned veteran:
1. Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone – It’s been said that everything you want in your life, whether it’s in your business or in your personal life, lies outside of your comfort zone. Whether you’re attempting to get in great shape or trying to have a great family, it takes an enormous amount of effort to succeed. It’s no different with your business and your goals. Your success will require you to do things that the vast majority of people would not do. But,if you do them, you’ll have a life that most people won’t.
2. Get Obsessed About Your Goals – Now, this does not mean that you need to disregard your spiritual life or your family life. But, you need to think about and focus on what you want constantly. Brian Tracy, success coach and author, says that successful people are “future oriented”. In other words, they are focused on where they’re going and where they will be in 5 years. It’s because of this focus on what they want, that enables them to accomplish more than the average person.
3. Develop A Strong Work Ethic – It’s no secret that, in order to win and lead people, the best way to lead is through your example. Make a decision that you will be the example that people should follow. The reality that most people don’t like to talk about is this: If you want to build a championship team and achieve all the things you dream about, there has to be a 3-5 year period of time that you are totally focused and in the trenches working with and building your key leaders. Obviously, if your goal is to make an extra $500 a month, you could probably do that in your 1st month. But, I’m talking about living completely stress free and never having to worry about money ever again.
4. Have Fun – If you plan on succeeding in this industry, you need to accept real fast that you are in the people business. If you’re not having fun, you won’t be able to attract people to you or your business. Now, I’m not saying that every single day will be fun because that would be misleading. However, I am saying the you need to enjoy the process and find a way to have fun. Think about it, would you follow you?
5. Make A Conscious Decision To Never Quit – As cliche as it sounds, it’s true that quitters never win and winners never quit. Just remember that studies have shown that if you stick with your company for at least ten years, and are actively engaged in your business, chances are you will be one of the top producing leaders in your company.
In summary, building your business will take time. Don’t expect to be an overnight success. As long as you can keep a long-term outlook, in 3-5 short years you can be living an incredible stress-free lifestyle. You’re going to be working anyway for the next 3-5 years, you might as well work at something that can change your life.
