If you like to keep things small, streamlined, efficient, then you may have a problem finding the right ATX case. Plenty of people will just purchase a larger case to keep their small computer in. If you have an okay case already, or one which you can't part with, this isn't a terrible answer. If you need to get a new case, think about a Micro ATX case to house your small computer.

Having your computer housed in an appropriately sized case is important for several reasons.

Saving Space

This is an obvious one, but what may not be obvious is how incredibly convenient it can be to keep a smaller tower on your desktop (or under it). Some computers are so small that with a micro case you could actually keep it in a desk drawer. However, that would be bad for the computer due to the heating issues. But the idea is that with the right case, and a power supply you could easily store your computer anywhere.

Appearance

A smaller case actually does look pretty cool. Any time that a video game system is scaled down, it is almost invariably met with praise - even when the inner parts still perform the exact same functions as before. This is exactly what happens with computers as well. For example there is really no NEED to make a tiny Mac, No, but they look really neat, and for some people, that’s the whole reason they buy a Mac in the first place over a PC. If you’re a PC user, you can still get in on the form AND function thing by just not wasting a bunch of space and plastic on your computer.

- A small computer is better for the environment.

Think about the plastic that is used on a full sized case, it's better for the environment to use less plastic. If you are someone who is concerned about the environment, this fact might be a great selling point for Micro ATX cases. Micro ATX cases use between 10 and 50 percent less plastic than full sized cases.

Less Overheating

You may think that all that extra space in your case is actually helping to keep your computer cool. Unfortunately all that space does is allow more air to be heated and create a virtual oven for your computer parts. Your computer's fan works to cool down the air surrounding the hardware within the case, and not the physical hardware. Obviously, your computer will not overheat as much by having a better case.

Saves Electricity

Obviously, when you use a small fan to keep a small space cool, it will take less power, and therefore save you money. Again, that fan is designed to cool the whole entire case, so, the smaller the case, the less power you’ll have to use to keep that fan working.

And that's everything! Now you know what all the hype is about micro cases, even if you aren't ready to convert, you are now aware that they are very nice to look at, practical and convenient.
