With this in mind I prefer to use the word 'improved'. This implies that you have listened to your existing customers feedback, which of course means that you have an established customer base and therefore you must have been around for a while. As you are an established business then they are assured that if they switch they will still be able to source your product in years to come, but even this may not be enough of an incentive for everyone.
Therefore by highlighting the existence of your secret fan base with the words 'insiders say that...' or 'this local secret' your readers are curious to know what these people know. Even though it is a local secret, the term local for most people means a geographical location, you could of course be talking about your Internet site as the local area.
Your customers now know that the product is improved, that it has a loyal fan base and these people are all in a select band of people who are sharing a secret. But this will still probably not be enough without the final killer detail. What is the number one problem that your visitors need sorted?
All of the secret fan base once had the same problem, and their life changed because they took the action and discovered the secret to this problem, I am sure by now your visitor has just signed up to join the secret fan base.
